General Description The EN54 FireProtect (Heat) is a professional wireless heat detector designed to detect fires in environments where smoke detectors may be ineffective or prone to false alarms (such as kitchens, dusty areas, or garages). The device fully complies with European standards EN 54-5 and EN 54-25, making it suitable for use in certified fire protection systems.

Operating Principle The detector continuously monitors room temperature using two high-precision thermistors. An alarm is triggered in two cases: a rapid temperature spike (rate-of-rise function) or when a fixed threshold of 60°C is reached. Upon detecting a threat, the device immediately activates its built-in siren and transmits a signal to the Ajax hub.

Reliability and Autonomy Using the Jeweller radio protocol, the detector maintains communication with the hub at a range of up to 1,700 meters. The device operates autonomously with pre-installed batteries for up to 3 years and can function even if the connection to the control panel is lost. The interconnected alarm feature ensures that if one device detects a fire, the sirens of all Ajax fire detectors on the premises will activate.
